Pre-press Information

  • Mac based operating system.
  • Media: CD-ROM, Mac formatted 100 MB Zip disks
  • E-Mail attachments: JPEG, TIFF or PDF formats.
  • Software: Adobe InDesign CC, Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe Illustrator CC, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.

To achieve the best results possible we ask that you follow these recommendations when submitting electronic files.

Digital file requirements for completed ads:

  • All press-ready graphic files are to be submitted as a PDF, TIFF, EPS, or JPEG in high resolution (300 dpi, NOT 72). All fonts & images should be embedded with all colors converted to CMYK. Black & white ads should be created using 100% black, not process black. Any files submitted with RGB, Pantone® or spot colors will be converted to CMYK. PDF files that do not meet our requirements will be opened in Photoshop and converted to a 300 dpi tiff and placed in an InDesign document.
  • Illustrator & Photoshop files must have all fonts converted to outlines.

Minimum digital photo resolution:

  • Grayscale at 170 dpi at 100% of the size it will be used in the ad.
  • Color at 200 dpi in CMYK at 100% of the size it will be used in the ad.

Page Layout Files:

We only accept Adobe InDesign files. Please include all linked images & fonts used in the document, preferably Mac Adobe Type 1 fonts. To avoid any font conflicts, it is best to convert all text to outlines.

If advertising material is submitted which does not conform to our mechanical and/or pre-press specifications, we are unable to guarantee the reproduction quality of such material. If possible, we will alert the advertiser and/or agency to these problems. We may, if requested, attempt to re-work the material into a suitable form for reproduction.

Production materials may be disposed of without notice 24 months after last use.
